6 Fall Bootie Styles

We are all enjoying the great summer weather here in the Midwest and realize that Fall is right around the corner. We both love the Fall season and look forward to incorporating our early Fall wardrobe into our late Summer clothes. It’s not too early to update any area of your Fall/Winter closet and today we are focusing on Fall Booties. Booties are a wardrobe staple and very versatile- your can dress them up or down, you can wear them with jeans, skirts, dresses and pants and toggle them from the end of Summer/early Fall when the weather changes quickly. Black and Brown are the typical colors that we have found- we have thrown in a few additional colors. There are 6 styles that are popular for this coming Fall and we have curated a round up of choices that we are happy to share.

6 Fall Bootie Styles

We broke the styles down to 6 based on the trends that are starting to show up. Rain Booties, Combat Boot Booties, Square Toe Booties, Sock Booties, Western Flair Booties and Fashion Boot Booties.

Rain Booties

These are always a style that you can use well into winter then again in spring and summer. The brands that have the biggest selection are Hunter and Cougar. Hunter has the Original Chelsea which looks like a typical Chelsea Boot that hits at the ankle and the Original Play Short which is just above the ankle. They have high gloss finish on a few styles Refined Gloss Quilt Chelsea and the Refined Chelsea Gloss that elevate this look. Cougar has the Firenze Chelsea Rain Boot in a high gloss finish in addition to two others. There is also the Iggy Waterproof Ankle Rain Boot that has a lug sole platform and a cushioned footbed. Cougar has a lace-up rain boot that has a combat boot look and is waterproof. All of the above mentioned booties are waterproof- as stated by each manufacturer.

Sock Booties

Sock Booties are having a moment. First of all let’s talk about what they are. A sock bootie is pull-on footwear that takes the silhouette of a shoe and a thin pair of socks. The material is a knit or other fabric that is pliable. The profile we chose is one that Bev wore years ago. Eileen Fisher has two styles- The London which is a stretchy knit on a platform wedge base- a perfect look for jeans. The Purl is a stretch knit upper on a streamlined booty with a low block heel- a perfect look for dresses and skirts- as well as pants. If you pair this with black opaques, this would compliment most skirts and dresses. Stuart Weitzman has many styles of sock booties- we picked the Audrey 75 Stretch Bootie because of it’s versatility. It is made out of a stretchy leather and looks much like a fashion boot.

Fashion Booties

Fashion booties are a stylish alternative to a pump. They are perfect for a cropped pant, a wide legged pant, a skirt or dress. Paired with an opaque of the same color, this creates an elongating column of leg- this looks great with a skirt that falls above the knee if you are concerned about the length being too short. We are showcasing two pair that Bev recently purchased- the Veronica Beard Leone Pointed Toe Bootie in black- great 2 3/4 inch heel, side zipper and cushioned footbed. Bev also purchased the 27 Edit Naturalizer Felix Pointed Toe Bootie in Cappuccino- a 2 3/4 inch heel as well, side zipper and cushioned footbed. The Cappuccino color is closer to mahogany than a luggage tan. Both are very comfortable, streamlined and classic in design. We included the Cole Haan Ina pointed toe bootie in nude suede- the perfect choice for now and into fall.

Combat Booties

This is a style that has so many options. We find that the best way to choose is to try on a few pair and walk around in them. These look great styled with jeans and casual skirts or dresses. Jeans, black t-neck, black leather (or Faux) moto jacket and some combat booties is a good formula to start with. Some of our favorites are the Pikolinos Vicar Boot, the Bernardo Durban Boot in Black or Chocolate Brown and the Larroude Hardy Buckle Boot. Marmi Shoes has a VanEli Zinky Boot that is very nice too.

Square Toe Bootie

The Square Toe Bootie trend is back and for some it is a classic bootie profile with very clean lines. Most often this is bootie has a block heel that makes it a very stable boot to walk in. The way to add interest- patent leather, woven leather and suede. We love the Vince Charlie in black patent and the Paige Frances Woven leather bootie.

Western Flair Booties

Not sure about this look- there are many ankle booties that have a great stacked heel that have a very comfortable fit. We have listed these three and if we find more we will update this post. We love the Banana Republic Stella Suede Bootie and the Blondo Noel for a subtle embrace of this trend. The Matisse Caty Ankle Boot has a bit more western style with a 7 inch shaft height. This bootie has been in production for a while and has 16 different colors- Val has a pair and can vouch for it’s comfort and style.
