Fall is our favorite time to entertain….Football games, apple orchard visits with the grand kids and casual evenings with friends require some menu planning and we are here to help. When you visit your local Farmers Markets there is inspiration at every turn! Apples, broccoli, brussels sprouts and butternut squash are in abundance. Comfort food is a must in the fall when the weather starts turning cooler and the leaves are changing.
American Spoon in Northern Michigan is one of our favorite places to shop for preserves, roasting sauces and salsas. Many of their products are seasonal. They have partnerships with local farmers which ensures the produce is fresh and flavorful. Some of our favorite recipes for this time year are Peach Pumpkin Chili, Dried Chile Queso Fundido ( a little spicy but the kids like spicy foods), and Pumpkin Chipotle Roasted Vegetables. Try these.. we think you will like these recipes.
Many of us look to Pinterest or online for recipes when entertaining but it is still nice to have a cookbook to refer to! Some of our favorite cookbooks have recipes that we go to time and again.
Val received this recipe from her friend Jill and it has been a crowd favorite ever since. It feeds a large group and everyone loves it! Pair it with cornbread and the is all you need. The recipe below is truly delicious!!
We hope this post offers inspiration for your entertaining in the upcoming fall season. Please share some of your favorite dishes, cookbooks and decorating ideas. We’d love to hear from you.
