Having your nails done (whether by yourself or by a professional) is an instant mood lift! With the fall season in full swing, now is the time to purchase some nail polish shades to compliment all those new fall clothes you are purchasing. Shortly we will be wearing booties but that certainly does not mean you should ignore the toes. A good pedicure always makes us feel better.
Polishes and Brands We Love
Honorable mention is the Sundays Brand of polish in our featured image. Bev has been using this brand all summer on her fingernails. Typically, Bev does her own manicures- after years as a practicing hygienist, keeping the nails groomed, was a great skill to develop. As a result, when she started using the Sundays Brand, she loved the coverage, mostly one coat. The drying phase takes a bit longer than usual. Use Seche Vite quick dry top coat and give yourself approximately one hour to clean out your emails, catch up on phone calls- you get the drift- don’t move your hands too much.
Hand Creams
Hand cream is a must, especially as we enter the cooler seasons. We love to have a tube in the car when our hands are feeling especially dry. A favorite of ours is the Deborah Lippman Rich Girl Hand Cream. The cream is a broad spectrum SPF 25 Sunscreen Hand Cream!! This is a good hand cream to throw in your golf bag as many female golfers struggle with protecting the sensitive skin on their hands. Our hands show our age so quickly! Bev’s absolute favorite hand cream is the The Naked Bee. The Orange Blossom Honey scent is beautiful and the cream truly works! L’Occitane is another hand cream that we both love…just visiting a L’Occitane store arouses your senses because it just smells so good! We are trying a new hand cream by Dionis made of goats milk. The Dionis Hand Cream comes in many different scents but we purchased the milk and honey scent at Ulta….scrumptious!!! No nail regimen is complete without cuticle cream….our pick….Deborah Lippman The Cure. It is an ultra nourishing cuticle cream that helps moisten your cuticles especially during the winter when our furnaces are on and the air is dry.
Please keep in mind that L’Occitane is having a CUSTOMER APPRECIATION EVENT which only happens once a year September 22nd to September 28th! Take advantage of this wonderful event and stock up on your favorites!!!
Make an appointment at Colorbox in Birmingham, Michigan for a professional manicure and pedicure…trust us…it is a real treat.
Please let us know what fall nail polish shades hand creams you prefer. As always, thank you for taking the time to read our post!
