Our Favorite Black One Piece Bathing Suits!

It is finally bathing suit season and time to go shopping for a new suit! Ugh – the lighting, the mirror- let’s be honest- the best time to try on any bathing suit is after a spray tan and a colonoscopy. Black bathing suits have always been one of our favorites…why?? They are slimming and they are so easy to style for an updated and chic look on the beach or poolside. Kind of like a little black dress…you always need one at least in your closet! We have spent some time shopping for you and here are some of our favorite finds!

For starters we love J. Crew’s bathing suits. The quality, fit and price are excellent. Right now, many of these are on sale. Don’t wait.

We’d love to share some of our finds from Nordstrom and Everything But Water. Year round, both stores offer a full and complete selection of bathing suits. Everything But Water also has cover-ups, hats and we’ve found their customer service is professional and knowledgable. They provide many suits for you to try on and check back frequently. We know that finding the perfect bathing suit can be difficult but here are a few suggestions to help in your search:

• Typically you are going to choose a suit that is a larger size than your pant size
• Spend a little more on your bathing suit to get a better grade of fabric which equals more support
• A built in bra will maximize support
• Ruching, wrap around waistlines, and interesting details on the top of the bathing suit are terrific partners for all figures
• Solid, darker colors are flattering to all figures
• Too low of a back can be a problem for some figures but interesting detail on the back of the bathing suit can amp up the style factor
• To protect our décolleté a high neckline or rash guard may help
