Skin Boutique – A Favorite Beauty Spa

Skin Boutique Beauty Spa

Today we are sharing one of our favorite beauty spas- Skin Boutique. The Skin Boutique is a local business in Royal Oak, MI. They are a boutique practice that helps guide you through the maze of aesthetic, non-surgical treatment options for skin rejuvenation.

If you are like us, you’ve heard about the plethora of procedures for your face and skin. To be honest, we didn’t know a BBL from a CoolPeel or a dermaplaning from hydroplaning. All we know we wanted to know was what all of these names mean and how they can improve the texture of our skin.

Skin Boutique

Bev started at the Skin Boutique years ago on the recommendation of a good friend. From the friendly smiles that greet you when you check in to the professional and kind members of the team that provide the numerous treatments- your experience will be wonderful. Another bonus, twice a year they host annual sales events where they have special pricing on products and procedures.

Right now they are hosting their Spring Fling through May 17th.

Treatments – Bev’s Favorites

Bev’s favorite treatments are micro-needling and chemical peels on the face, BBL therapy on the face and neck and Dysport on the forehead. There are many more treatments that Skin Boutique offers. Call to make a consultation to discuss any treatment options you are interested in or ones they can recommend. Taking the time to answer your questions and walking you through any procedure, is another reason why the Skin Boutique is exceptional. They take the time to explain everything.

Microneedling in combination with ViPeel- chemical peel

You can have microneedling and a chemical peel done separately or at the same time. Bev has always had hers done together. You’ll spend about 30 minutes with numbing cream on the areas of the face where the treatment is performed. Bev’s experience- “my face was red, like a sunburn.” You will be given instructions on skin care and products to use for the next week. FOLLOW THEM!!! Peeling starts around day 2 or 3- don’t schedule any social events if a peeling face isn’t your brand. Don’t pull the peeling skin- that’s a big no no!

BBL Photorejuvenation

Bev had this procedure for the dark spots on her face- predominately on the sides of her face from sun exposure. No numbing cream is used as it would interfere with the laser transmission- however, a serum is placed on the skin before use. This feels like someone is snapping a hot rubber band on your skin- not too fun- but hey if you’ve gone through childbirth you can do anything. Bev did have a little swelling of the skin but it went down by the next day. By day 2 or 3, dark spots emerge then flake off by day 7 or 8. Resist the urge to scratch these off- another no no!

Dysport

Dysport used on the forehead gives a more natural look than Botox. It allows for more movement and acts faster. It is specific for glabellar lines- the lines between the eyebrows that look like 11.

Products Recommended by the Skin Boutique

Skin Boutique carries and recommends some wonderful product lines. Glymed, Alastin, Epicutis, Latisse and Nutrafol. Remember the Spring Fling going on now has these products at 15% off. Here’s a review of Alastin and Epicutis

Alastin

Bev’s favorites from this product line are the HydraTint Pro Mineral moisturizer with SPF36, Silk Screen Mineral sunscreen SPF30, Regenerating Skin Nectar (great for use before and after procedures), Gentle Cleanser and Ultra light moisturizer. All of these products are great for use after procedures.

Epicutis

This is another line that has wonderful products to use after procedures and everyday. The Oil Cleanser, the lipid serum and the hyvia creme are all wonderful.
