Smells Of Summer – Our Favorite Summer Scents!

Summer and warm weather is here in full bloom and we wanted to take a moment to share with you some of our favorite summer scents! We know it can be difficult sometimes and confusing picking out a perfume when there are so many wonderful options available! How do you even start figuring it out! We hope we can help you decide!!

Smells of Summer – Our Favorite Summer Scents!

Perfumes are typically grouped into several different categories or scents. These categories are floral, fresh, fruity, woody or spicy! If you can identify what category or categories you like the best it may help you at least narrow down where your search will begin! One thing we really believe is fragrance is subjective. You will know it when you smell it! We just spent some time at the fragrance counter and it became clear quickly the fragrance that would not work for us. We both have our own distinctive personal favorites too!

The perfume you will be most attracted to could become your signature scent. Some people fall in love with a scent and wear it over and over and that is really ok! That perfume you are most attracted to could become your signature scent. On the other hand you may be adventuresome and like to try a new scent every so often! There really are no rules! Take your time because perfumes can be costly!

Test the fragrances at the store but try only three or four in a row because after a while it will be hard to differentiate between them. Spray the perfume on the test strips that the store provides and resist spraying on your skin. When you think you have found a fragrance you really like lightly mist on your skin and wait five to ten minutes to see if you still like it. We also feel there is nothing wrong with asking for a sample to see if you are really ready to invest in that fragrance.

Here are some of our favorite summery scents that remind us of warm weather and summer days. The perfumes are not listed in any particular order as these are our favorites combined!

Coco Chanel

Coco Chanel perfume was launched in 1984 so it goes without saying this perfume is a sensation with many women. The perfume has a woodsy, spicy scent along with other underlying scents like rose and jasmine. Coco Chanel has definitely withstood the test of time and happens to be one of Bev’s favorites!

Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet

If you looking for a summery scent that evokes memories of a walk through a flower garden look no further than Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet. Blooming Bouquet is one of Val’s favorites and reminds her strongly of summer days, flowers and pure joy!!!

Jo Malone Red Roses

Jo Malone’s fragrances are at the top of our list but this one is special. In addition, Jo Malone Colognes are made from fine ingredients and something we just discovered is the colognes are meant to be layered to create your own personal scent!! Isn’t that great! Red Roses is created from a blend of seven different roses with crushed violet leaves and a hint of lemon. Simply wonderful!

Jo Malone English Pear & Freesia

The undertones of this Jo Malone English Pear & Freesia Cologne are ripened pears and white freesias. We both equally liked this scent and see it as a beautiful scent to be worn throughout the summer.

YSL Libre Eau De Parfum

The YSL Libre Eau De Parfum is a floral fragrance that contains notes of lavender, orange blossom and musk and vanilla. YSL created this wonderful perfume for the woman who does what she wants and dares to be exactly who they are! We couldn’t agree more!!

Flowerbomb

Jasmine, rosebuds, vanilla, and peony creates a deep floral scent that many women find irresistible. Viktor and Rolf says Flowerbomb is perfect for anyone seeking a signature scent that radiates an explosion of 1000 flowers! Perfectly described!!

Parfums De Marly Delina Exclusif

To start right off we love the bottle! It is beautiful but the perfume in the bottle is even better. Parfums De Marly Delina Exclusif contains notes of Turkish rose, Lily of the Valley and Peony blended with the tangy notes of lychee, rhubard, bergamot and nutmeg. This perfume is truly a masterpiece!

Kilian Intoxicated

Intoxicated is truly one of Bev’s favorites. Coffee, cardamom and vanilla are the rich notes in the perfume. Kilian Intoxicated Perfume is also refillable which is truly a benefit!

Perfumed Body Lotion

Many perfumes have body lotions available in the same scent. Layering your perfume of choice helps to increase the longevity of the fragrance. Think of it as doubling your perfume for a longer lasting scent. When your skin is moisturized it also helps to keep the fragrance last longer! You really don’t want to overdue it though! Moisturize and then give it a minute and lightly mist with the perfume.
