Sweater Weather
- Fall Fashion
- September 28, 2023
We love the Fall Season and all of the wonderful sweater styles, colors and fabrics that are available and we understand the challenge women face when the cooler days do show up and wonder what to wear. As the temperature falls here in the Midwest, it’s the perfect time to throw on a sweater or pair it with a vest, jacket or blazer (think the Veronica Beard Dickey + Jacket sets). Finding a new sweater or two, pairing it with a great pair of jeans makes getting ready a breeze and will provide the confidence that you look stylish while keeping warm!
We found so many great selections, breaking them into 4 categories. Enjoy this round up of sweaters for the fall weather. Please let us know which ones are your favorites.
Sweater Weather Sweaters
Honestly, once we started looking for sweaters, we knew we couldn’t feature all of them so grouping them into 4 categories helped. Below we have on the Modern Citizen Nara Tie-Front Sweater. This color is no longer available, however, they have 4 color selections and of note- has no wool in it. Click here for more information
Beautiful Basics
In addition to the Modern Citizen Nara Tie-Front Knit Sweater , there are a few others we just had to share. The Avara Jackie Sweater is a beautiful high neck, 3/4 length sleeve soft fabrication. Spanx has the new AirEssential Crew Sweater that has an inverted pleat detail on the back and comes in many colors. The J Crew Half-Zip sweater is perfect for golf and pairs well with vests. Cable Knits
Cable Knits are such a classic look in a sweater. They just look so cozy and soft. We have featured this Avara Bridget Sweater in Olive. It is a great sweater that has no wool in it and can be worn as a vest as well. The Holton Cable-Knit Vest could be styled as is, under a jacket or with a thin white long sleeve tee shirt underneath. The Raya Long Sleeve Turtleneck Sweater has a detachable turtleneck that allows two looks- turtleneck and v neck. Click on any photo below for more information.
Tuckernuck Ecru Royal Peacock Sweater
L.L. Bean Cotton Funnelneck Sweater
Faherty Sunwashed Cable Crew Sweater
Evereve Thais Fringe Pullover
Color Block/Plaid
Ann Taylor has a Tweedy Funnel Neck Sweater in a blue, camel and white palate. Ann Taylor also has a Colorblock Mixed Stitch Sweater. Click on the photo below for more information
The Max Colorblock Sweater
This Modern Citizen colorblock sweater comes in two different colors- we’d take both.
Added Details
This category has some simply elegant sweaters and some that have exquisite details. Pair these with beautiful denim trousers, skirts or black wide leg pants and for an elevated look. Holiday parties will be here before you know it-these may be the start of a great outfit! The Splendid Phoebe Pointelle Sweater’s detail- it has the delicate pointelle knit on the sleeves that looks like lace. The Ted Baker Finer Details Sweater has frilled trim around the neckline, sleeves and hem adding a subtle femininity. The Joie Devika Open Stitch Sweater would look great worn over a slip dress. Click on any photo below for more information.

This Cashmere sweater is another splurge piece-consider the fabrication, detail on the neckline(front and back), the drape and pleat of the sleeve and the color selection- Black, Red and Light Heather Gray. All of these colors are classic and timeless.
Lorna Off-the-Shoulder Sweater
The Lorna Sweater is a deep teal color that compliments black and ecru. Style with a midi skirt or high-waist wide leg pant.
