What To Bring To A Dinner Party!

What To Bring To A Dinner Party

Eating out is definitely a popular way to meet up with friends, socialize and people watch. It is also a great way to try out a new dish or enjoy a variation of one you truly love. We definitely love eating out. The great restaurants in the Midwest make this an enjoyable experience!

A dinner party at a friends house though is the best!! Having dinner and drinks at a friends house is just so cozy and comfortable. The evening will be remembered for a long time to come. What is more fun than being with the people you love, enjoying their company and sharing funny stories?

Dinner parties are also a perfect time to meet new people! Meeting new people is stimulating. You never know……you may be meeting someone that will become a lifelong friend! It doesn’t matter whether you are getting together with friends just for a night spent together or to celebrate a special occasion….dinner parties are so special and you want to show your appreciation by bringing something special for the host or hostess to the party and not arriving empty handed! You also don’t want to break the bank!

So in saying that…how do you show your appreciation and thankfulness for being included? How do you figure out what to bring to a dinner party? We have a few thoughts!

What To Bring To A Dinner Party

A Gift Of Food

Attending a dinner party is so much fun and one of the reasons is the guests are excited to see how the host and hostess have decorated their table and what the menu is. We are all looking for new ideas for dinner right!!? Why don’t you offer to bring a dish you love to the dinner party!

Your host and hostess will be so appreciative because it will make their life that evening a little easier and everyone gets a chance to try another dish they normally would not have had a chance to experience. You may even consider bringing baked goods for dessert and showing off your cooking skills! It is a win-win! You get a new recipe for your future dinner party and you helped out a friend! One tip…make sure you let them know what you are bringing so that it fits into the menu they have created.

To make this idea even more special….bring your dish in a nice tray or bowl that you can gift your special people. Here are some ideas that we personally like and we think you will too!

Flowers

Everyone loves flowers and it is definitely a gift that your host or hostess will treasure. One thought..if you bring a bouquet of flowers don’t expect your host or hostess to have the time to trim the flowers and put them a vase because they are so busy getting prepared for the evening. One great gift is a potted plant or a seasonal plant to reflect the time of year. Or..better yet…purchase some flowers that you personally love, trim the flowers and gift your host or hostess with a brand new beautiful vase!! We love some of these beautiful vases that your host or host or hostess will enjoy for years to come!

You could also order flowers to be delivered to your friends home the day of the party so they have an arrangement to display that day or you could bring them yourselves. We thought this flower arrangement was so pretty and a good price point!

Candles

Scented candles are an easy way to show your appreciation. The candles we have curated are some of our favorites but we really have a laundry list of candles we enjoy!

Olive Oil and Assorted Sea Salts

Olive Oil and Sea Salt are two items you know for sure your host and hostess will like because they use olive oil and sea salt all the time. Red or white wine is always a nice gift but unless you know your host or hostess wine preference it may be problematic. Not the case with olive oil or salt…this would be a culinary gift that would be useful.

A Few Other Ideas

Love this beverage tub and Val personally wants this for herself. Gifting yourself is really ok! Haha! You may not want to spend this much on a hostess gift but that is a personal decision depending on the hostess and your relationship with her.

For the animal lovers in your life these kitchen towels and oven mitts are adorable!

These soaps are so pretty that we feel there isn’t a hostess that wouldn’t want to receive it. We would! The price is pretty good too!

There is absolutely nothing wrong with bringing a good bottle of wine or a box of chocolates too!! When you are stretched for time this may be the best bet!

Please share with us any ideas you may have for hostess gifts in the comments below! We are always looking for new thoughtful gifts for the hostess. Thank you for reading and have a wonderful 4th of July holiday!
