A Club Monaco Dress Styled For Two Seasons

We were shopping (shocking) and came upon this knit maxi dress at Club Monaco. At first glance, it didn’t wow us. Seriously, then we tried it on and changed our minds immediately. Does that ever happen to you where you walk right past something in the store, only to buy it, praying it never wears out? This dress is comfortable with the gathered detail at the waist that is extremely flattering. To top it off you can wear it now and into fall and winter effortlessly. In this post we will show you how we styled it for both summer and fall seasons.
Val styled her black dress for summer with a great necklace and earrings from Barbara Boz Boutique in Birmingham, MI. Side note- her boutiques and jewelry “inspire delight” to quote Barbara. Her style is casual, yet luxurious. In addition to her designs, she also showcases other designers that are out of the ordinary, artisanal and look great paired with her collection. This is a go to place for unique pieces. Val added a new sandal from Schutz that has a gold ankle chain that is removable.
Bev styled her taupe heather dress with her own belt and statement necklace that she found at Oh My Gauze. Our previous post on Oh My Gauze can be found here. Her earrings are from My House of Style, also in Birmingham, MI. My House of Style is another distinctive jewelry and gift boutique. Bev’s earrings are a few years old, but they always have a unique selection. Make sure you visit either in person or their website. Bev’s shoes are Jeffrey Campbell from last summer and unfortunately are no longer available.
Here is how we styled this dress for a Midwest Autumn Season.
For the fall version, Val styled her dress by adding a black, long sleeve turtleneck, black leather Moto jacket, a wide suede belt and black suede booties. Bev styled her dress for fall with a white, long sleeve crew neck tee, distressed brown leather jacket, wide leather belt and brown pumps.
The style possibilities are nearly endless with this dress. You can go from very casual to more sophisticated or season to season by changing just a few accessories and shoes. Love the versatility of this dress.
Here are a few style boards that we created for both dresses. These are helpful when putting your look together.
We hope this has inspired you to check out this dress at Club Monaco and the Birmingham, MI shops of Barbara Boz and My House of Style. Let us know if you find other pieces that can go from season to season.

Looking good girls! 😊
Thanks Jo. This dress would look great on you too!!
Where did the belts come from?
The belts were previously purchased. Bev’s fall belt is a Cabi and her summer belt from a small boutique in Florida. Val’s fall belt is from Birch Roots. Would you like a post on belts? That might be a good one!!!
