Brutus : Forever In Our Hearts

We lost our dear Brutus a week before Christmas. It was totally unexpected. He was doing so good. He had zero health issues. His vet…his groomer…everyone always asked me what we were feeding him in jest! He liked to sleep a little more but he did not lose his appetite. In fact, he pestered me often during the day for snacks. The week before he died I was telling my husband he was running down the driveway ( we have a large curved driveway) with me in tow trying to keep up with him. He was healthy until he wasn’t.

Brutus: Forever In Our Hearts

Brutus died of congestive heart failure literally three weeks before his sixteenth birthday. I knew he was older but if you knew him you would understand our surprise. I really thought he would be one of those Shih Tzus that lived to 18 years old which many do.

Brutus was our little chill pill..when he was a puppy he played like puppies do but as he got older he was calmer and liked to be with us all the time. He was our little buddy…loved sleeping with us…honestly watched golf with my husband… and loved to squeeze onto the same bed with his sister Bella who passed earlier. He was the sweetest little man.

Everyone knows that is a lucky owner of an animal that when your precious fur baby passes over the Rainbow Bridge it leaves a hole in your heart forever. Everywhere we look in the house we have a memory of him. He was with us on every special occasion and the grandchildren loved him so much. He was part of our family! We will miss him forever.

We will miss you forever Brutus. Love and kisses little man.
