Our Favorite Spring Nail Colors and Care

photo of nail polish and hand cream

While spring is not quite here, you can get a kick start with a mani and pedi in a fresh, light color. If you have a professional do your treatment or are a DYI, you still have to choose your polish color! We are sharing our favorite spring polish colors and equally important our favorite nail care products. Since many of us will be wearing sandals and flip flops shortly, do your beach buddies a favor and get that pedicure!!!

We do have our favorite brands for polish- Essie, OPI and Deborah Lippmann. Why- their color choices are both classic and trendy. Most of the year, we prefer manicure colors that lean toward the nudes, whites, neutrals and pale pinks. The pedicure color choices we make are more bold and adventurous.

Hand and Cuticle Creams and Oils

Hand cream is a must. We love to have a tube in the car when our hands are feeling especially dry. A favorite of ours is the Deborah Lippman Rich Girl Hand Cream. The cream is a broad spectrum SPF 25 Sunscreen Hand Cream!! This is a good hand cream to throw in your golf bag as many female golfers struggle with protecting the sensitive skin on their hands. Our hands show our age so quickly! One of Bev’s absolute favorite hand cream is the The Naked Bee Moisturizing Hand and Body Lotion. The Orange Blossom Honey scent is beautiful and the cream truly works! L’Occitane is another hand cream that we both love…just visiting a L’Occitane store arouses your senses because it just smells so good! The Shea Butter Hand Cream is one of their best sellers and one of our favorites. Their Youth Hand Cream contains Immortelle Oil that helps with reducing dark spots and offers other anti-aging benefits. The Dionis Hand Cream comes in many different scents but we purchased the milk and honey scent at Ulta….scrumptious!!!

No nail regimen is complete without cuticle creams or oils…our picks….L’Occitane’s Cuticle Oil and Deborah Lippman’s The Cure. L’Occitane’s cuticle oil comes in a nifty tube with an attached brush.

What does 8 free mean? Nail polishes in the past had a strong odor and contained chemicals that were harmful. Chemicals that were in the polish could actually enter the body through your nail beds. Most polishes are 3 free which means they do not contain formaldehyde, toluene, and dibutyl phthalate! We can’t even pronounce these words!!!!! Some polishes are 7 free or even 9 free. Some polish lines are vegan or gluten free too and don’t use animal testing.

Here’s your homework- go purchase a new pair of sandals, let us know if you do your own nails and what colors are your favorites for the spring. No grades given. Happy Spring!!!

Thank you so much for taking time to read this post. Have a wonderful day!
