Spend A Morning With Laurie @Todd’s Room

Getting pampered is always so enjoyable! Now as everyone is starting to get out more it is time to hit refresh!! Making an appointment with Laurie at Todd’s Room is a great place to start. We spent a morning with Laurie having our eyebrows reshaped. We were given a tutorial on makeup application and even had lashes applied! Laurie sure corrected some of our makeup application mistakes…including but not limited to Bev’s need to STOP reshaping her own brows. That’s what we love about Laurie…..her reputation is the face you are walking out the door with and she truly cares about her clients.

Todd’s Room is located in Birmingham, Michigan. It is a metro Detroit award-winning beauty apothecary. Todd Skog, the company founder, is an internationally renowned and award-winning makeup artist with over 25 years experience. The services offered at Todd’s Room include makeup application, eyebrow styling, hair styling, makeup lessons and a myriad of other offerings. Todd believes that, “Nothing makes a woman more beautiful then the belief that she is beautiful.” In addition to services, Todd’s Room has a selection of beauty and hair products, clothing, jewelry and other accessories.

Laurie is a licensed esthetician, and brow and makeup artist/stylist. Val has been going to her for over 10 years and has learned so much from Laurie. She has always loved fashion and makeup from an early age. Her passion for her work is evident. We are so grateful that she is here in Birmingham and has been with Todd’s Room for fifteen years. Laurie suggests once a year do a make-up lesson to stay current. She would be happy for you to bring in your make-up and your make-up brushes to evaluate what you may need and what you may need to toss. We were surprised to learn that your skin tone can change through the years, requiring a change of your color palette.

Laurie’s Tips On Beautiful Eyebrows:

Invest in yourself….make an appointment with an eyebrow artist

A well styled eyebrow provide a natural eye lift

Eyebrows can outdate your look if done incorrectly

Laurie did a makeup application on both of us that was designed for daywear. You must first get your skin in good shape because the makeup will sit better. Still wearing masks means our eyebrows and eyes will be the main focus.

Laurie’s Tips for Brows, Lashes and Eyes

If needed, tint your brows and lashes. Consider eye lash extensions if need be

Using serums on your eyebrows and lashes do thicken and lengthen. Try Revitalash and Revitabrow products here

Always use natural eyeshadow colors. Please use pearlized and frosted shadows sparingly. Your blush and contour powder can be used applied to eyelids as shadow also

Eyeliner should be a tight line on upper lashes then smudged with eyeshadow powder that is the same color

Laurie’s Tips for Cheeks and Lips

Spring 2021 is bright lips. When using lipliner start at the edge and work toward the center

Bronzer should only be applied where the sun naturally shines, NOT all over your face

Pressed powder should only be applied at the top of your cheek bone and up

Apply blush on the apples of your cheeks while smiling
