Thanksgiving is right around the corner !! Yikes!

We both love Thanksgiving! One of the main reasons we like it so much is it is a time to gather with family and friends to share a meal, some conversation but more importantly to reflect and be thankful for our many blessings. Another reason is…it doesn’t involve gift giving! Just fun, food and laughter!

Thanksgiving is always celebrated with a large sumptuous feast of turkey, many side dishes…and pumpkin pie! It is really a tradition that has gone on for centuries! A beautiful table can turn any celebration into a special occasion. Decorating your table for a large Thanksgiving feast adds to the Thanksgiving vibe and is the focal point of the home on Thanksgiving Day!

The next month and a half are going to fly by so it is not too soon to start planning for Thanksgiving! In saying that…does your Thanksgiving table need a refresher? Maybe some new napkins and napkin rings? There are plenty of ways you can set the table for a wonderful and memorable Thanksgiving experience and we have compiled a few for inspiration!

Ten Thanksgiving Table Setting Ideas

Tablecloths & Table Runners

The base of any great table is your tablecloth. A tablecloth not only protects the surface of your table it also makes cleanup easier! It provides a clean surface and you can change your tablecloths depending on the event to reflect the celebration. Many people also like to spread a white, ivory or neutral tablecloth and add a runner down the center of the table for a pop of color! Take a minute to check the condition of your tablecloth well before Thanksgiving to make sure there are no stains and it is freshly ironed!

Some of the tablecloths we like are the Serena & Lily Wave Tablecloth, Pottery Barn’s Stella Damask Cotton Tablecloth and the Macy’s Ellen’s Elegant Woven Leaves Damask Tablecloth. The tablecloths are neutral and will provide a beautiful base for your fabulous Thanksgiving table!

Chargers

A charger is a decorative plate that you put under your plates for an elegant look and to add some pizzazz to your Thanksgiving table. We both utilize chargers just for that reason. It adds layers of color or texture to each place setting!

A basic charger like the Tava Handwoven Charger and the Williams Sonoma Olivewood Charger are nice to use whether you like a minimalistic table or have plates with a large turkey in the middle and lots of pattern!

Napkins

Many people believe that you have to match the napkins to the tablecloth. You certainly can but you can also add colorful napkins for a pop of color or even patterned napkins for added interest.

West Elm has Val’s favorite napkin this year. The Abigail Ruffle Linen Napkin is so soft and pretty would be easy to blend with just about any tablescape. The Williams Sonoma Thankful Napkins are so appropriate for the season. If you would rather have a pop of color on your table the Crate & Barrel Marin Napkin and the Pottery Barn Palma Linen Napkin are great choices.

We discovered a few new napkins we love for Thanksgiving too. Take a look at the Williams Sonoma Jacquard Foliage Napkin, the Autumn Plymouth Turkey and the Crotchet Napkins are great options.

Napkin Rings

Napkin rings add a personal touch to your Thanksgiving table and to us are the crowning jewel for your table. They simply add more interest and dimension to your table in addition to serving the purpose of keeping your napkin secured.

Some of our favorites are the Neiman Marcus Gobble Napkin Ring and Gilded Pine Napkin Ring . These napkin rings will most certainly make a statement on your Thanksgiving Table!

They also can be decorated to reflect the holiday and all seasons which makes them the more economical way to go! Bev loves her white plates and these are a few of her favorites…. Pottery Barn Classic Rim Dinner Plate, and the Heirloom Stoneware Dinner Plate and the Emma Beaded Stoneware Dinner Plate. The Juliska Blenheim Oak Plate has a beautiful woodgrain textured rim which adds just a little texture.

The Kate Spade Abington Square pattern is sturdy and made of stainless steel. The pattern is a classic and you will never get tired of it! Juliska Berry and Thread is basically the same. A classic that has been around for awhile but you most likely will never get tired of it. Love the 24K trim!!
