What To Wear To A Graduation Party

Graduation season is right around the corner and it is never too early to decide what to wear and start preparing your outfit. If you are hosting a party for your graduate you have plenty of other details to attend to right?! Our children graduated many years ago (we are aging ourselves!) but we still remember how many parties we attended and all the excitement and hoopla surrounding this wonderful day! Graduation Day is such a momentous day in your students life and you will want to be focused just on your student in their caps and gowns and not your outfit.

Graduation Party Outfits

These parties can be a very casual barbeque in the graduates parents backyard or an elegant luncheon at a golf club. The invitation or evite you receive will give you your first hint as to what the theme of the party is. We remember word of mouth between the mothers also was helpful in figuring out what to wear. One tip…some schools require the girls to wear white dresses so you may not want to show up in white dress.

Our theory is it is always better to dress up a little if you are worried about what to wear to a graduation party! If you are hosting the graduation party you may want to amp it up some too. We have put together a roundup of outfit ideas we feel will work for you so here we go!

Graduation Outfits To Wear To A Club

We absolutely love this Ted Baker slip dress! The colors are soft and almost Monet like! You never know what the weather is going to be like so if it gets uncomfortably hot you can remove the cute cardigan and cool off. This outfit would be totally appropriate for a club environment. The dress has a long silhouette with slender straps and fits true to size.

This Cinq A Sept denim dress is one of those dresses that you will wear often. Val purchased a denim dress from Cinq A Sept several years ago and has worn it on repeat. The lines on this dress are beautiful with the flowy, asymmetrical skirt and the crew neckline. The dress is pricier but well worth it. The Vince Camuto Espadrilles is in our shopping cart….imagine these espadrilles paired with your wide leg jeans for the season in addition to this dress.

Nothing like a black dress for the summer. The Paige dress we have featured here is one of those dresses that can be styled many different ways. We have styled it with a canvas belt with the chain detail and saddle brown sandals and purse but you can style it with any color of your choice.

Bev & I have been looking for a saddle brown sandal and purse for awhile and are so happy to finally have found ones we like. We love this purse and sandals from J McLaughlin.

Backyard Graduation Party

A bright floral skirt like this beauty from Farm Rio is a winner! This maxi skirt has it all…a belt tipped with beaded fringe, pockets and a beautiful floral print. We thought this skirt would look amazing in the fall too with booties and a jean jacket.

Graduation Party At A Restaurant

Me + Em is a company we have had our eye on for a long time!!!! We really like their stylish and chic clothing. This beautiful crisp blue and white striped top is one that you will wear all year round. In addition, the embroidered cuff and the scallop trim at the V neckline adds so much interest to this top along with the removable tie. The Cinq A Sept jeans with the wide leg and cuffs pair well with an espadrille shoe like the pair we are featuring from Patricia Green. The frayed strap is what caught our eye and the ankle tie. The neutral color will work well with so many outfits this summer.

We both love blue and think the blue accents really add so much detail to this outfit. Check out this beautiful purse from Pamela Munson..one of our favorite purse designers. If you like this purse and want to see more purses from Pamela Munson check out our post here for more selections.

Super casual but this outfit can be worn to a fun outdoor barbeque graduation party. We like the neutral tone and if you are a person who loves color almost any color can be paired with these pants and top.
